From the recording MUSIC OF SAMOA
When Mr. Eugene Reid was a young boy, he witnessed the day his uncle Mata'utia Pene Solomona brought the music of this song to their house. Mata'utia wanted his sister Luisa Solomona-Reid to sing it. 'La'u Rosa' was first sung by his mom in Tanugamanono, Samoa. Mata'utia played their family upright piano. (Note: Luisa Reid was known in the family and church for her beautiful operatic voice).
